Pleco Cave 6x Set - Natural (Medium)

Six caves to give every male his own. On our systems the fish choose their cave, so we give them options — several tubes spread around the tank let each male claim one, break the line of sight between rivals, and ease the territorial pressure that stalls breeding. More caves, fewer standoffs, better spawns.

A breeding tool, not decor. This is the classic straight-tube cave with a bark-like natural texture that reads like the rock and root crevices cave-spawners claim in the wild, and blends straight into a planted aquascape.

The tube shape does real work. A male backs in and seals the entrance with his body, where he guards the clutch and steers a steady flow of water over the eggs — the behavior that gets a male to commit and spawn.

Which fish it's for

• Medium size suits bristlenose (Ancistrus) such as L181, L183, L144, and similar-bodied fish up to ~10 cm.

Note: A male should nearly fill the entrance — that snug fit matters more than extra space.

How to use

Rinse each cave before adding it to the tank. Set them on the substrate, or bury slightly so they sit stable, in low-flow, shaded spots. For breeding, space several apart so each male can hold his own territory.
