Spirulina Tablets - 100% Spirulina
These sinking tablets are made from 100% spirulina — nothing else. Spirulina is a nutrient-dense algae, naturally high in plant protein, carotenoids, and trace minerals, and it’s one of the best plant foods for deepening the greens, yellows, and reds of algae-grazing fish over time.
This is the plant side of a balanced diet, built for herbivorous and aufwuchs-grazing bottom dwellers that browse algae and biofilm in the wild.
The tablets hold their shape rather than crumbling, so fish can graze them slowly and the water stays clear. If your fish are used to meaty foods, give them a little time — switching to a pure plant food can take a few days.
Which fish it’s for
- Ancistrus / Bristlenose plecos (L144, L181, L183, common bristlenose) — including fry, as an easy early plant food.
- Whiptail pleco — Sturisoma and Farlowella.
- Gold Nugget plecos — Baryancistrus (L018, L085, L081, L177).
- Green Phantom (L200) and other algae-grazing Loricariids.
- Common and sailfin plecos.
- Shrimp and snails, which graze it readily.
Several of these fish — Gold Nugget and Green Phantom especially — also need some animal protein. Use these tablets as the plant part of the diet and rotate them with a protein food 2–3 times a week.
How to feed
Feed in the evening, before lights-out — that's when these grazers are most active. Drop it in at night and let the fish graze; in the morning, remove any leftovers so they don't affect water quality. Always remove anything uneaten so it doesn’t cloud the water.
Feeding guide:
- 1 tablet per 1–2 adult fish,
- 1 tablet per 5 juveniles,
- 1 tablet per clutch of fry.
Ingredients
100% spirulina.
