Pleco Cave - Camel

A breeding tube with a twist — literally. The Camel's gently curved, humped profile makes the interior feel more enclosed than a straight tube, so fish settle deeper inside and feel more secure. For shy species, or fish that have been slow to commit to an open-ended cave, that extra sense of enclosure can be exactly what tips them into using it.

It still works the way a breeding cave should: a male holds the entrance, guards the clutch, and controls the flow over the eggs — just from a snugger, more sheltered chamber.

Which fish it's for

• Hypancistrus and Peckoltia that prefer a tighter, more enclosed space

• Bristlenose (Ancistrus) and other cave-spawners to ~10 cm

• A good option for fish that haven't settled into standard straight tubes.

How to use

Rinse before use. Place on the substrate in a low-flow, shaded spot. For breeding, set several apart so each male can hold his own.
