Tree Trunk

A hollow fallen-log hideout with a tunnel running through it — open at both ends, so fish move through it rather than getting cornered in a dead-end. That through-passage is what makes it useful in a community: a fish can enter one end and leave the other, and the long, low profile breaks up sightlines along the bottom of the tank.

The realistic bark surface reads as natural driftwood and anchors a planted or biotope layout.

• Plecos and catfish that rest inside or against driftwood-style cover

• Community fish and cichlids that use the tunnel as a pass-through retreat

• Shrimp, which graze along the textured surface

How to use

Rinse before use. Lay it on the substrate so both ends stay open; bed it in slightly for stability. Position to break up open swim paths.
